Cool Robot Papercrafts

I don't know if this is the best idea for a hub, but I'm really obsessed with papercrafts right now, and I'm especially into robots in connection with that. Robots seem to be a very popular topic for papercraft artists to create. Maybe it's because all the parts end up being made up of geometric shapes. I've spent a little time trying to make my own paper robots. Papercrafts are really hard to design, especially when you're trying to do things that have organic shapes. Things like cats or birds are a real pain. But it's really easy to make circles, triangles and squares. It's even easier to make something like a regular hexagon.

So if I was making something like the Blue Pistol Robot, above, that would be easier, because all the shapes are simple. This is a really cool papercraft, and is available from this website: eborg3.

The Pixar movie, Wall-E was extremely popular. I like it a lot (although my favorite movie from Pixar is still Monsters, Inc.) The popularity of Wall-E definitely led to a lot of robot papercrafts. Like a LOT. There are many more robots included than a person can link to in a day. I'm going to link to some of my favorites here.

Not all robots belong in science fiction. Nowadays we have robots in our houses. Some people have Sony Aibo robots at home. It's more common, however, for someone to have a Roomba vacuum cleaner. Here are two examples of papercraft robots of this type: HAL 9000 Roomba Mashup and Darth Maul Roomba Robot.

Here are three other papercraft robots that I think are really cool. The first is a amazingly detailed replica of Bumblebee from the Transformers movie. The second is a huge page of old-school Japanese movie robots. And last, this cool robot papermodel that walks.
